The Latvian Karate Kyokushinkai (Latvijas Karate Kiokusin Federacija) was registred in 1993, February, 15. The school of Martial Arts created in 1991.07.11, Riga and had all rights for Statute sports club. The Kyokushin Karate fast did development, so sports club after Federation, made it one of Latvian*s largest dojos with an annual membership over 200.
From June,1992 to April, 1994 the LKKF had good business contacts with Founder Kyokushinkai Karate in World Masutatsu Oyama, 10th.dan, Latvia-Tokyo.
In 1995,May,Bucharest,Romania,Open European Championships Kyokushin Karate, LKKF did dicision for co-operation to European Kyokushin Karate Organisation and International karate Organisation Kyokushinkaikan under direction Mr.Shokei Matsui. The co-operation continued 12 years, from1995-2006. Team of Latvia participated in European Championships and International Tournaments every years.
But in 2007, January, National of Latvian Kyokushin Karate Federation have co-operation with new created International Karate Kyokushinkai Organisation(IKKO), Kancho, President, Mr.Teyyub Azizov, 9th dan. And in 2008, April,13 Team of Latvia participated in Tournament All Countries of Asia. Team of Latvia has 3rd.range.
From 2006,December,19 the Latvian Karate Kyokushinkai received Statute of National Karate Organisation that is, National of Latvian Karate Kyokushin Federation, Reg.no.094. In this time
Leaders of Federation working for create the European of International Kyokushin Karate Organisation, centre, Riga, Latvia. European Countries of EU that is, Great Britain, Finland, France, Austria, Germany and other Countries, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, India, Georgia, Azerbaijan want to co-operate with Latvia.
